Being a proud Canadian brand, Trochi decided to launch this product line on Canada Day 2019, targeting souvenir stores and tourism market. The design illustrates four iconic Canadian wildlife- polar bear, moose, beaver and otter; The polar bear is by far the most ranked design by the retailers and customers, which one is your favorite?

The Science behind “Neoteny”

A great example of the “Neoteny” marketing strategy is the mega-success of the Japanese-cartoon style mascots design for Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010. Mascot merchandise sold millions of copies to intentional tourists and Canada nationwide.
Creating this product line using cute cartoony illustrations, not only promoted patriotism, emphasizing the brand as Canadian, differentiating the travel products from the competitors, but was also a perfect fit for the majority of Trochi’s customers based on the sales data.
